Buddhism and Meditation in Iowa City Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in 2005 as a non - profit organization and member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center offers classes in Buddhism and meditation as well as study programs, retreats, and special events in Iowa City. We also offer introductory meditation classes in the Quad Cities, and Des Moines. Our Resident Teacher is American Buddhist monk Kelsang Wangden. Wangden has been a close disciple of Geshe Kelsang for many years and offers clear, heartfelt, and practical advice according to his Spiritual Guides instructions. Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center is an oasis of peace in the state of Iowa and functions to help people learn practical methods on how to solve their daily problems.
