Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center
Welcome to Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center. This center was founded in 2005 with the blessing of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso; Internationally renowned Buddhist master and scholar. The Center is dedicated to benifitting others by offering the path of wisdom and compassion in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and throughout the state of Iowa.
Lamrim Center offers classes tailored to the needs and wishes of everyone in the community. Whether you are a university student wishing to let go of the stress associated with balancing work, study, and play, or a professional looking for positive ways to deal with difficulties or challenges in the work environment, we have something to offer you.
Classes at Lamrim Center and in downtown Iowa City emphasize very simple and practical methods for learning to deal with daily difficulties in a very peaceful and positive way. Learn to meditate, improve concentration, overcome distraction, and develop a daily meditation practice. Also learn ways to overcome negative minds such as anger, attachment, jealousy, and selfishness and learn to cultivate positive minds such as patience, love, and compassion.
