Spiritual Director

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is the Spiritual Director of Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center.  Geshe Kelsang is a fully accomplished meditation master and teacher of Kadampa Buddhism. Ordained at the age of eight Geshe Kelsang studied in the great monastic universities in Tibet and engaged in 18 years of meditation retreat in the Himalayas.

In 1977 Geshe-la, as he is affectionately known by his students, accepted an invitation to teach at Manjushri Mahayana Buddhist Center in England. Since that time Geshe-la has been working tirelessly to promote and help the flourishing of pure Kadampa Buddhism throughout this world. Geshe-la continually gives immaculate teachings on the Kadampa way of life and has also established three unique study programs tailored to the capacities and inclinations of all levels of practitioners.

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso sets a perfect example how to live a life of compassion and service for the sake of others.

Kelsang Wangden is an American Buddhist monk and close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Wangden has been studying Kadampa Buddhism for many years and presents Buddha’s teachings in a clear, heartfelt, and practical way.

Through his example and guidance others are able to able to develop the good qualities of mind that will lead them to lasting happiness and peace.
